Dock buffers are an essential collision guard to efficiently protect your expensive loading quay against serious damage. A loaded truck with a total weight of approx. 40 tons generates tremendous force, even in a light collision and can effortlessly damage the anchorage or mechanism of a loading quay.
Dock buffers are therefore indispensable to absorb such shocks. It is not necessarily the speed but rather the mass of the colliding vehicle that is responsible for the damage caused..
Our dock buffers are made of new synthetic rubber that effortlessly absorb shocks from heavy vehicles at a low speed and ensure that no damage is done to your loading dock (or to the vehicle).
Dock buffers are easy to install. The fixation plate is first firmly attached to the wall next to the loading dock with 4 sturdy anchors. Then the rubber buffer is fastened to the fixation plate with two bolts. These bolts are of course recessed into the buffer so that they will not cause any damage to the vehicle.
This method of installation allows you, if necessary, to order the rubber buffer separately. It might even be a good idea to stock a few replacement buffers if you have a building with several loading bays.
Always make sure you order the correct rubber buffer for the right fixation plate. First check the dimensions of the fixation plate already installed and the placement of the mounting bolts for the buffer so that you are sure that the replacement buffer fits correctly onto the existing fixation plate.
